Basic Interview Guideline

Welcome back to our AutomatedSuccessTeam blog. To get more information about our team, you may visit: http://www.btstartnow.biz

Today I'd like to share the basic format for following up with prospective partners in your business. If you are new to networking, this may be the most important skill that you will want to learn, and to perfect.

Remember, people do not like to be chased. They like the time to understand your business program and want to feel respected. Think about the last time you bought a car, and how you wanted time to look without any pressure from your sales person.

Just as important to remember, is that you are qualifying team members for your business. Simply put, your job is to determine if this person qualifies as a team member, and if joining your business would be mutually beneficial. You are interviewing people who have expressed an interest in starting a home business to see if they are the right match for your business, and your business is the right match for them.

Develop your CEO mentality – you are looking for qualified candidates. Think about conducting an interview as the CEO of your company.

Don’t take it personally if they don’t choose your business. It may just not be the right time, or the right business, for them. They are not rejecting you.

Have the mindset that you might have to interview 25 people to find the one perfect person you want to sponsor, coach and train. If you select the right people your job will be much more fun!

The following is a guideline. Use words that are comfortable for you. Be genuine ~ people will respect you if you are yourself. Your goal is simply to learn about them. Therefore, you will be asking questions and listening for the answers. Do not do a sales presentation!

Here's the format:

Hello (their name)This is (Your name) calling from (Your hometown or State)

I received a message that you're interested in starting a home business. Is that right? (Give them time to answer your question ~ they may be looking for a job)

I'm giving you a quick call to learn a little about what you’re looking for. Is this a good time for us to speak for a couple of minutes? (Demonstrates respect of their time; if they are busy, schedule a time to call back).

Would you mind sharing with me a little about yourself and why you’re looking for a home business. (Listen for their "why" and take notes).

Restate what you’ve been told. Example: Well Jeff, it looks like you’re looking for a home business that will supplement your income from your job as a plumber, and you have about 9 hours a week that you could spend with your business. Is that right?

What I’d like to do next is send you to an online presentation that will give you some details about what we have to offer ~ the business model, the compensation plan, marketing system and company overview. The presentation is about 15 minutes long. When do you think you’ll have time to go through the website?

Do you have a pen and paper handy? Let me give you that website now, and I’ll follow up with an email to you. Let me confirm your email address; I have (their email address). The web presentation I'd like you to see is: www.yourwebsitehere. I'll call you back on (restate the date and time for your next appointment).

The more you practice this format, the more relaxed and fun it will become. Enjoy the process of helping others to explore your business. It becomes easier with every call.

To your success,
Bobbi
